bambs, Under that scenario you have painted, we are about to start getting Fed easings soon----again another indicator of a bottom. Once the easings start, the market would move up and not only that---investors would anticipate this ocurrence and start buying up. Markets rally when the rates start dropping and this time investors will discount this event early.

Surely if the FED sees what you are seeing in the near term, they would be easing right now to ensure it works its way into the economy.
I trust Greenspan will care of the problem if he sees it as a problem--ie. recession causing.
