Zbyslaw, I forgot to mention ADI. The situation is the same across many of these companies. They are so aggressive in their defending their positions that demand is very very strong.
In the case of Cisco,it was raw material increases but still they did not break it down too much. Part of it was that they wanted to keep a larger inventory due to the long lead times for optical. Those lead times are not dropping according to JDSU etc...
But, why are the suppliers still so bullish in all their comments. I have heard AMCC totally disagree with the slowdown scenario. Same goes for PMCS, VTSS. VTSS even stated that complexity increasing means more and more VTSS chips will be ordered by Lucent even if Lucent sees no growth. I heard that at the H and Q discussin last week. PMCS was also there and so damn bullish.
I don't get it or maybe some bearish analysts don't.

I would still sum it up as overeaction in the communication chips. I am waiting for some upgrades in certain stocks soon or broad calls on this sector that are bullish in the very near term.
