i probably will be sorry for posting political commentary on the porch since it is so republican. but, my guess is that bush got a great majority of the vote he got because he is "likeable". Many exit polls support this. It is not just my idea. here's what is coming. And, by the way, it has to come quickly. Bush has a majority in both houses only until 2002 where it is expected (even by republicans) that they will lose control of the senate.

1. I predict oil drilling will commence in Anwar within 12 months benefitting Cheney's constituency (oil companies)

2. Many abortion procedures will be made illegal until the Supreme Court can be tilted enough to verturn Roe v. Wade.

3. The FDA will reverse course on RU-48?

4. Deforestation will commence on now protected federal land in many of the areas in oregon and Washington State where Nader support was sooo strong.

5. School prayer will become law of the land. I realize many of the southerners on this board find that great. But,being of a minority religion, I find it reprehensible (not too many people on this thread like me anyway so I guess I probably just became the least liked person who has ever posted on this thread).

5. School vouchers will become federal law thus destroying what is left of our public school system. many of those vouchers will end up financing the church. Separation of church and state will no longer exist.

I like most of Bush's economic policies. It is the religious right and their control over social issues that scares the hell out of me.

OK, that's it. I won't bother you folks on the porch with my political views any further.
