Well, at least someone here was capable of making a decent argument for simplification. I should not be surprised that I had to wait for Brumaire to come by, I suppose. I do not think it holds, though. If there is concern for the working poor, who cannot afford to make arrangements to clear their schedule, then target aid to them to give them the help they need to get to the polls. That is a special case. Otherwise, why shouldn't we expect a modicum of effort to exercise the franchise? If the right to vote is valued, and there is a commitment to one's cause or candidate, then a little trouble is no impediment........
