Jon, according to a number of voter interviews, many did it deliberately to disqualify their inadvertent vote for Buchanan. A few brave souls went back and asked for a new ballot, but most thought they were not allowed to do that. Note that if indeed this is correct (and I think it is), it represents close to 1% of the vote count in Florida and explains much better the reason that the exit polls were "wrong". In fact, it seems that the exit polls that gave the state to Gore relatively early were correct. Interestingly, no news organizations have picked up this theory yet, but the night is young. Kyros
