OT/Thx Ido. The bad pennies just keep turning up in this regime.

Notwithstanding the sound and fury of media attention on the "butterfly ballot" that was approved by the democrats, well before the election; IMO questions about what prevented large numbers of absentee ballots getting to our military personel in different areas of the world is the real voting "irregularities" story. And to have Bacon, a well known Clinton/Lewinsky figure step forward to try and discredit the story while admitting he doesn't know the facts sure tells me "the game's afoot"<g>.

But with most of our major TV networks known for liberal bias focusing heavily on that ballot form (which would most help Gore in Florida) I have to wonder IF denying the franchise to our boys in uniform overseas will ever get the high profile, repeated coverage it deserves.

On another point, Gore's special envoy to Florida, Warren Christopher doesn't need 73 lawyers with him to "count votes". Clerks can do that just fine.

Sure hope I'm wrong! But talk about filing lawsuits to challenge the use of that already approved ballot could cause a major disruption and delay of the presidential election process which should be settled promptly when all absentee ballots are in hand. But once you have dozens of very partisan lawyers involved there is the possibility that the result could be tied up in numerous Florida courts for weeks or longer.

An old W.S. rule of thumb is that the markets hate uncertainty. IMHO, an extended court free for all over the Florida result could create exactly the kind of uncertainty that leads to serious repercusions for the markets.
