NH Democrats may ask for a Bush-Gore recount
By JOHN DiSTASO
Senior Political Reporter
CONCORD — With fewer than 7,300 votes unofficially separating George W. Bush and Al Gore in the Granite State, the
New Hampshire Democratic Party is considering asking for a recount.
State party chair Kathleen Sullivan told The Union Leader yesterday that although 7,300 votes “are a lot of votes in New
Hampshire,” the roughly 1 percent Bush victory over Gore in the Granite State is small enough to consider a recount.
Sullivan’s disclosure was first reported yesterday afternoon on this newspaper’s Web site, www.theunionleader.com
