Dave there was a local election in miami that had a small group of local politicians working overtime to stuff the ballot box. It was a local election with a very small turnout - that is the only way that they could try and get by with it. It was not race related.

The charges of people not being allowed to vote during open polling hours is still in the rumor status. It is interesting that no one complained when this supposedly happened but a day latter when Jesse Jackson showed up. I know for sure that if I had been turned away from a polling place with the polls open I would have raised the issue then and there. With as many Gore and Bush representatives that live outside the polling places I find it hard to believe that this happened and we did not hear about it sooner.

As far as Florida being the 'Racial Equality State' I am sure it is not the best, but far from the worst either. Palm Beach county is better known as the winter playground of the Kennedy's then red neck land.
