OT Elmer, here's a quote from The Wall Street Journal:
By Sue Shellenbarger:
Uneven State Standards Cause Serious Gaps In Child Care in U.S.
....(snip) Navigating state-by-state differences is "scary," says Sharon Simonson, a working mother who has moved several times. "You don't know what the standards are and you feel like you have to do a lot of research. It's kind of overwhelming." In Texas, where child-care standards are among the nation's lowest, Ms. Simonson's older son, then a toddler, sometimes spent hours watching videos. After a move to New Mexico, Ms. Simonson found better care...(snip)...Now in California...(snip) quality is better
Elmer, do you think the Governor in Texas believes women should stay at home, and if so, would this belief demotivate him to improve his State's day care centers?
By the way, since you've been to Israel, then you may know Israel is advanced in this area. The country of Israel appears to have an interesting family-work life style that tends to be more integrated as a whole, which appears to provide better care for their country's children. Have you heard about the quite well-known Intel Israel day care center? A very good model.
