The questions surrounding problems with minority
voters led Kweisi Mfume, president of the
NAACP, and the Rev. Jesse Jackson to call on the
Justice Department to ensure that the election was
handled properly and that the minority vote was not
diluted.

"The concern is so basic -- that every American
who votes, their votes count," said Jackson upon
arriving in South Florida to meet with local minority
leaders. "The Department of Justice must do their
duty to protect voters from disenfranchisement."
