Long gone. When the most powerful and most technically advanced nation on planet Earth can not run an election properly I have to wonder why the US$ goes up and gold goes down. How can this kind of thing instill confidence in the rest of the world that the USA is in complete control??
I guess the world has put all their eggs in one basket ( the US$ ) and scared to death that there could be a sudden loss of value of the US$. Seems to me that central banks now hoard US$ just as they once did with gold only now there is no limit on the amount of US$ that flood the world.
It appears to me that whenever there is a crisis of some kind elsewhere in the world the value of the US$ goes up, this time the crisis may be at home, how will the rest of the world view this latest event? will confidence remain strong?
On the lighter side maybe slick willy will have to remain in power for a few more years till all this get cleared up :-)
Take care
Lorne
