Agree. The next president must be elected by the College, not the popular vote. Should it be changed is a valid issue for the future, but has no impact on this election. Can't change the rules mid-game. Funny thing is, Bush ran his campaign on INTEGRITY. Integrety, high morality, honesty. If Bush has an ounce of integrety, he will concede to the true winner. Gore won this election. Although irrelevant, he won the popular. He won the will of the people. 19,000 Gore votes thrown out in FL, which gives Gore 285. Done deal. Deep down in their hearts and minds (very deep down) republicans know Gore should be the next president-based on the college. Bush will win the presidency based on error-a fluke-a technocality-a mistake. Bush will be our OJ. Walking around as President, but without any legitamacy. He will be a sham. And when he speaks to the public and to congress, he will have no legitamacy whatsoever. Lastly, our Union is strong. Gore should contest those 19,000+ thrown out votes. Our country will surive another few weeks, to insure the correct guy won. A few years back the republicans didn't mind putting the country through the impeachment debacle. |
