Are you forgetting your original argument? I believe Clinton received only 43% of the vote, vs. 48% for Bush or Gore in this election. So either man will have at least as much legitimacy. Clinton got the most votes in both his presidential elections. W didn't. Why should Democrats give W more legitimacy that Republicans gave Clinton?
