how can the wishes of the people be overruled???

The 'wishes' of the people were NEVER at stake here. It's the wishes of the 'states' that's at issue. Each state makes it's decision and collectively, the states decide who the next president will be. This was NEVER a popular vote and everyone in the country knows this.

Whether or not the ballots were confusing is NOT an issue at this stage of the game. NO ONE WAS DENIED THEIR RIGHT TO VOTE. If someone can't figure out how to vote, they had many people they could ask for assistance at the polls. In Chicago we had the same ballots they used in FL with the exception that we didn't 'butterfly' the presidential section. While it is unfortunate that this type of ballot was used in FL, this should not change the vote or be used as justification to call for a new election!
