Good for you Kyocera. I'm glad that you guys just figured out the the first generation pdQ needed to be improved. I bought the thing and returned it an hour later. Mostly, I couldn't stand the palm platform. The size was bulky, but that was supposed to the idea. A smart phone is going to require a phone that weighs more than 20 grams like those sleek Euro models Tero always talks about but we never see.

FWIW, if I had to review the current phones at PCS, the company with the best showcase of CDMA products in the US, the MVP of the PCS lineup is the Sanyo 4500. I wouldn't bother with any other phone. The cheap plastic models made by Kyocera are just plain awful. The 4 way scroll bar for the Sanyo operates much better than other microbrowser navigators. The phone has voice activated dialing, speakerphone, handsfree, a calender, calculator, email, outstanding input, and every other bell and whistle that is currently available. Also, I really like the way the blue highlight on the microbrowser. It's not as cool as the color microbrowsers they have in Japan, but much better than the plain text interfaces offered on the other models.

One thing I am very excited about the speakerphone. it will hopefully offer an efficient form of input for names, addresses, and navigating menus on the WW. We are getting really close to something that is really cool. I would have no problem saying QCOM's contribution to digital computing and communications has finally overshadowed all of the accomplishments delivered by the PC industry in the past 20 years. It shouldn't be too much longer before this stock starts moving again like last year. The next 12 months are going to be a lot more fun than this year!!
