Harry, do you know how much money Rupert Murdoch tried to give to Newt? Rupert's officially an American citizen now, but that's a bit of a technicality, a legal requirement for his U.S. media holdings. If you actually follow the money, News corporation doesn't really qualify as American by any stretch of the imagination.

Murdoch was hardly a unique situation, as far as business interests lobbying Congress goes. Money is fungible and dollars from foreign sources work just fine. I'd be more than happy to have lobbying and campaign finance reform, but legislation like that hasn't gone anywhere in Congress. I believe Newt said we need more money of that sort, not less.
