Now ignorant intelligent people are REALLY dangerous because they can lead ignorant stupid people. There are a lot of combinations, eh? But I think the most crucial criteria for cruelty and danger lies in the heart rather than the mind. Stupidity, in and of itself, seldom seems dangerous. But hatred, envy, resentment, and an obsession for power...these are dangerous: Dangerous, irrespective of the actual grams of grey matter in the recipe. Some of the most prolific murderers in history had high I.Q.'s--but no empathy for others. Empathy is the single most important quality for the survival of our species. Without it we will definitely destroy ourselves; Because we have more power than can be imagined. If the power becomes predominantly destructive rather than constructive, we can all kiss our eyes goodbye.
