I yield to your obvious knowledge on that. But did not Gandhi serve to be THE one who pushed the independence over the top?

A classic issue: "Do the times make the man or the man make the time?"

Perhaps in Gandhi's case it was the former. In Churchill's case, I believe the man made the times. That is why I believe he was the Man of the Century.

Does anyone know who Time picked as"Man of the Century"?
