Nichols, have you ever heard the story about Roberto Divicenzo who led the '68 Masters golf tournament by 1 short after 4 rounds. He checks his scorecard and turns it in to the officials. He clearly played the best golf of the week and defeated all comers for the green jacket. HOWEVER, he made a simple math error on his scorecard and was disqualified. It was a tragedy, but Divisenzo realized that the rules come first. Some officials told Bobby Jones, (head of the tournament) that it wasn't fair, wasn't there a way to declare Divicenzo the champion. Jones did the right thing and the rules prevail. Golf is nothing without rules.

We are a country of laws. It's a shame that this happened, but there simply is no remedy. Hopefully the loser will help heal the country, and do the right thing.
