Oh my- I promise not to tell Cos you said that. I think we only hurt the ones we love because we're around them so damned much, and because they care about us, and we care about them. It's much more difficult to hurt people who don't care about you- not impossible, just more difficult. Let's face it- you aren't stuck around the people you don't love either. When you are in a bad mood at home- who else is going to be there? The people closest to you. Everyone else you can avoid. And of course how hurt are people who don't love you, by your bad behavior? If I scream "I don't love you anymore, you prick," at the UPS guy, he isn't going to be hurt. He's just going to have a really good story about a crazy lady he can tell to his friends. If I say it to my husband- different story.
