Not sure this is off topic anymore, since it is obviously affecting stock prices.

I voted for Bush, but I find the fact that over 19,000 ballots had to be thrown out extremely troubling. Considering that it was in just one county, it seems like an awfully high number to just dismiss as irrelevant, or "too bad". The integrity of the electoral process is at stake.

The trouble with arguing that the ballot wasn't that confusing is that the 19,000 rejected ballots are a fact. Something caused those ballots to be improperly marked. If it wasn't due to a confusing ballot, what's left, deliberate fraud? I hope not.

In any case, it now appears likely that the outcome of the presidential election will be determined in the courts, one way or another. This seems unlikely to be a speedy process, and the attendant uncertainty seems likely to limit the upside in the overall market for a while.
