" LE PLUS CA CHANGE, LE PLUS C'EST LA MEME CHOSE"
From what you say I gather the main change in the new economy is that the old 80/20 principal may have become the 90/10 principal. In my 50 year career (graduated exctly 50 yrs ago) I've seen Doctors, Engineers, and many others with the same degree of bewilderment. Those very human traits are not confined to dealing in the market.
I saw the discussion from last night and concur with what was said. Foolishly perhaps, I still feel that integrity counts and agree with the other poster that yours is noteworthy, and will continue to attract people of quality, and the odd few who still need Nannies.
The thing is that if you treat people fairly, and reasonably they keep coming back, and making referals, and...and... I even had an old customer say to me recently "I can't let you retire, what am I going to do when you die?" To which I responded with Warren Buffet's old line "Don't worry, Im going to keep working for at least 3 years after that." And he wasn't even a politician.
