Ted: Bush may not get into Canada if he's elected president
From the National Post, November 9, 2000

"Conviction Could Bar Bush From Canada'

"George W. Bush may or may not have been elected to the most powerful position in the world Tuesday night, but according to Canada Customs he is just another former felon to be turned away at the border.

Because Mr. Bush was convicted of drunk driving in 1976... he could technically be banned from entering Canada according to a spokesman for Citizenship and immigration Canada.. Driving while under the influence of alcohol is regarded as am extrmely serious offence in Canada, and persons with convictions for this offence are inadmissible to Canada"

..Mr Bush could enter Canada if he applied for a permit from
the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration..
