Mike,

If we were either a Libertarian society or at a minimum moved most government activities to the state level we wouldn't have the problems we are about to have.

If the federal government doesn't do much who really cares who wins?

OR

If you don't like the policies in your state, just vote with your feet.

The way I see no one has a monopoly on being correct about either economics, money, morality, behavior, foreign policy etc...

The way we do things, at least 48% of the people are going to be really pissed off with the result and/or policies.

Democracy is a wonderful thing until "your" guy loses and the bonehead who won threatens your financial well being and/or lifestyle. I'll take true freedom over what we have any day of the week. (even if I have to watch a lot of boneheads in other states from the sidelines)
