No, I don't think so. But, you know what? It does not matter what I think. What matters is whomever they voted for, for whatever reasons was in their minds and their hearts. The only people who know are themselves and their God. That is what the democratic process is all about, based on a secret ballot.
If they made a mistake, if they think they voted for the wrong person, is regretable, and I do sympathize. But I believe it is more important to support our democratic process and our constitution, than to allow individuals to revote after they have of their own free will entered a voting booth and cast their ballots. And I believe this no matter if the individual is jewish, black, white, or polka dot colored.
And I will believe this EVEN IF the recount reverses the election and Gore wins. In that case, even though I support Bush, I will wholeheartely support Gore and his new administration. |
