Hi Greg,

The Senate is still not determined...last check was 50 to 49 in favor of Republicans, with a WA seat still in doubt. IF that goes Democrat, no VP can get elected.

Not to go into picayune detail here, but it is my understanding that Al Gore is the Vice President until the day of the Inaugural. I could be wrong about this, but I believe Gore would preside over the Senate on Jan. 5 as things stand now. At any rate, it certainly is a mess no fiction writer could ever have concocted. At least not a sane one. <g>
