I'm afraid you're out of bounds on that one. There's a lot we don't know about Bush which could still come forward. But play with my theoretical for a moment.

a) Bush assumes a highly contested presidency with half, perhaps even more than half of the nation believing the election was rightfully Gore's.

b) Then comes a new Bush scandal--cocaine, prostitution, insider trading, whatever--comes out.

What would the state of the nation be?
