Can the Supreme Court assert itself without an appeal? In any case, this is a state matter governed by State Constitution and a Florida Supreme Court, I believe. I also doubt that the Supreme Court would ever enter such apolitically charged decision without a full hearing on the merits of the case.

So my answer is no.
