Re: shorts

I see the ignorant have arrived.

"TMTA business is a lot of hype" - and apparently your mission is to counteract it with your anti- hype? at least try to make rational arguments:

," but is it cheaper to make than a comparable performance chip? " It has a smaller die than either the amd or intel chips, therefore almost by definition it is 'cheaper to make'

"Is it cheaper than a comparably low-power chip? Hell no (there are other low-power chips, like StrongARM--they just aren't x86 compatible or as powerful" What's your point? If they're not x86 compatible, they're oranges, not apples, and any comparison has no meaning.

"wait for some weird benchmark to compare this relatively unimportant point" If you say so, but then why are amd/ intel now trying to match crusoe's energy efficiency/ performance ratio?

". Is TMTA comparable to AMD? " no. check it out:

that's an ugly, painful 16yr non-performance - whew!

The market is always forward- looking, discounting the future GROWTH. It clearly doesn't see it in amd; intc has had a great run, but like dell, their best are in the past.

short if you like, but watch out in case it turns into a brcd or brcm. i would like to be long, but etrade didn't carry this one, so i'll just keep watching for now...
