So, is there or is there not an oil zone?

TransGlobe Energy (TGL:TSE,CDNX;TGLEF:NASDAQ BB) announced that the An
Naeem #2 well on its 25%-owned Block S-1 in Yemen was drilled and
tested through the targeted Alif zone to a total depth of 1,424 m. The
well was reportedly drilled to evaluate the possible existence of an
oil rim about 50.0 m down-dip of the previously-drilled An Naeem #1
well. TransGlobe says the second well encountered about 36.0 m of net
pay, with the Alif zone testing at combined daily flow rates of 27.7
mmcf/d of gas and 880 barrels of condensate. The company gained $0.13
on Bay Street Thursday to reach $1.13/share. (Nov 8/00)
