The recounts are superfluous to Gore and Daley. They know they'll lose them. They know they need to win it in court if at all, because they lost at the polls. The recounts serve a useful purpose of "wag the dog" politics -- holding media and voter attention, and keeping our outrage at bay, while the lawyers and judges decide. Gore won WPB county by over 110,000 votes. Obviously the "confusion" wasn't that widespread. In '96, they had 15,000 double punches in WPB, they were thrown out, and nobody complained.
Three days ago, if anyone was told Gore would sue for the Presidency, they'd say even Gore couldn't be that arrogant, self-centered, and power-hungry. Well, he is. Here's yet another reason that man shouldn't be in power. |
