Jeff: You're exactly correct, and it's this underlying fundamental which strengthens my conviction with regard to VLNC's longer term prospects (like they weren't already strong enough, heh). And that is....there's no incentive for Telecordia to enter this arrangement if they've viewed VLNC's current technological state and found it wanting. So for Telecordia to entertain, and agree, to this strategic partnership is a signal you'd have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to see.
Meanwhile, I see the stock got caught in a bear trap this morning; probably helped by general market conditions and the short position attempting to maintain control? Ah, well, so it goes....barring a total melt-down in managements position (and/or the market, too), my long term comfort zone with VLNC is, as Mooter would say, satisfactory.
