Again, a poor analogy. Fans in football aren't asked to vote for who won the game. There is a completely objective measure, the score. One OK analogy would be a football team winning a game because of an antiquated rule. In any case, I don't think most people are arguing that GW should have the Presidency taken from him for losing the pop vote. I belive it is the right thing for George to do to step away from the Presidency and save America this embarrassment.
