I think the approach to that level triggers a lot of knee-jerk dipster buying.

I have been trying to figure out how the markets can go down while mutual-fund inflows continue. Perhaps individual investors are selling individual stocks, but putting some money into funds in the belief that it's safer there.

When the mutual fund redemptions start, as they say--look out below.
