There has to be a smarter approach than tech.

When people say things like that, I start slowly building long term tech positions, a few shares at a time. Yea I get hit for a few points sometimes for a short time, but in hindsight they are always my best investments. Like SCMR last may in the 70s, sold it for a double a few months ago...CFLO at 104 bought on a bloody day just sold 144 held less than a month. I'm able to hold onto these without stressing out during the whipsaws since I have a cushion.
And then when things turn up I trade around those core postitions. Cause I'm not putting my $ into safeway!!!
