You are indeed invincibly ignorant. Reagan had to rebuild the military that Carter has destroyed. The Dems reneged on agreed spending cuts. As for today's surpluses, Reagan's success in ending the Cold War and the resolve of GOP Congress share credit. The Dems from Clinton on down fought balancing the budget until Dick Morris's polls showed Clinton that embracing the GOP ideas were his only way to get re-elected. >>we experienced the energy crisis That was under Carter, you thoughtless tool. Reagan ended the "energy crisis" when he promptly decontrolled oil as one of his first acts.
