Important Info on 19000 "Rejected" Ballots & Hand Recount

I listen to Rush Limbaugh today at lunch and I'm *so* glad I did. I learned new information about the 19,000 ballots that were allegedly rejected because they were double-punched. Apparently a poll worker has reported that these 19,000 include ballots that were turned in by voters after they made a mistake so that they could get a new ballot and re-vote! If his is true, there has been some GROSS deception going on! The media should be reporting this in a very high profile way. (This information came from Madeline Murray or Mary Madeline--can't remember which).

Another thing I also learned (from a liberal co-worker who voted for Gore no less): Apparently, these voting machines that use punched holes normally miss votes in some cases (e.g. if the hole didn't get completely punched through or if the hole is slightly off-center). The result of this is that when you do a hand count, the total number of votes usually increases since those missed votes normally get included in the count. The Gore camp apparently realizes this and all four areas they have chosen for the hand count are areas that went decisively for Gore. Statistically, this means that Gore is almost guaranteed to pick up additional votes during the recount since the votes the machines missed would naturally be distributed proportionally more toward Gore than Bush. In order to make this fair, Bush needs to request hand counts in the other precincts. Depending on how accurate these voting machines are, this could easily be enough to put Gore over the top (but based on this, it wouldn't be fair and equitable at all).
