This is about right. Nevertheless we cannot much blame Gore's looking under every stone for recourse, since this election is not amongst the prettiest in our history. After all, in this cycle a dead man beat his challenger in Missouri, and Satan won the senate in New York. I think that clearly tops the "wrassler's" win in MN.

In the end-game of this ghastly circus of a match, what does Gore have to lose by openly being Al Gore? Certainly not his dignity and honour. He is going for broke, and will do what he has to do to win office, even bite, hit, snarl and spit to the uttermost. It is a fitting conclusion to his run for the presidency.
