My only recommendation stems from yesterday's download of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet's version of what they refer to as the Pachelbel loose Canon, in which the single most overplayed item in the baroque repertoire is run successively through reggae, samba, bluegrass, funk, jazz, a Gypsy Kings takeoff, and a few other renditions. One rarely sees technical virtuosity combined with humour; I think it's the first time I've laughed aloud at a piece of purely instrumental music. I personally preferred the reggae and bluegrass versions....
