Bill, Of course I'm an optimist. I have to be or I'd go insane. LOL!! We learn from our mistakes around here. Remember last year... Huskers lost to Texas in the regular season and then we beat them in the Big 12 playoffs. We WILL beat Oklahoma in the Big 12!!! Politics: Yes, who ever wins the vote count should win. That would be Gore, not Bush. I also agree about the Clinton issue you mentioned. But he also split us between the young and old..Feeling that way or not. <GGG> My Generation didn't really care all that much, or weren't so shocked by what happened. We all agree he shouldn't have lied about it. Just admit what you did and go on. Back to moolah (money) issues. I tend to agree with those guys who said we are in for a hard landing. I have seem some commentary that says this is how bear markets start. We go down, the recover a bit, then down again and repeat until we don't recover to where we started. I guess I won't be retiring at 50. My idea of retirement is not working for someone else, not to stop working completely. The labor market is tight but I'm more for retraining people than bringing in people from overseas. There are plenty of people on welfare who are trainable and willing to work. Part of the problem is some people have to pay for child care. I really don't know how people make it on the lower salaries, it seems like they are working to pay for daycare. Then the other issue on bringing in more people would be we could open factories etc in other countries but then we trash their environments and they are left with a mess. In Nebraska, in my county, I suppose a mornon could mess up the ballot. We have the fill in the oval forms, like the computerized tests we take now days. I suppose you could fill in more than 1 oval but you'd have to pretty stupid. Well you have a great weekend!! Take Care Ann P.S. I guess we have a little more in common than I thought.
