Barrons 11/11/2000 Has the iPaq on the Cover:

Comparison of the Palm Vs. Msft OS.

The Barron's writer says -- right now -- the Palm satisfies most of the consumers' demands.

The iPaq is the future winner. Palm's "simplicity" focus will prove to be a short-term success but an also-ran product in the future.

The C/E products offer the following benefits:

1) the C/E O/S is more powerful than the Palm O/S

2) the consumer demands more than a day calendar

3) the C/E product enhancements are more dynamic, frequent, and innovative

4) Palm's claim of 100,000 developers pales in comparison to a more powerful device (the C/E has better graphics, more memory, more applications)

A focus on simplicity is fine for a certain group of customers -- perhaps a significant portion. The customer, however, deserves a choice for power and additional applications. Palm ignores the increasing demands of customers, while the C/E product focuses upon what the market will be like in the future.
