Blonder Tongue CEO Selected as Business Leader of the Year By Local Chamber of Commerce
OLD BRIDGE, N.J., Sept. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Blonder Tongue Laboratories, Inc. (Amex: BDR - news) a manufacturer of electronics and systems equipment for the franchised and private cable television industries, announced today that James A. Luksch, President and Chief Executive Officer has been selected as Business Leader of the Year by the local Chamber of Commerce.

Each year the Chamber of Commerce serving Old Bridge, Sayreville and South Amboy selects one businessperson from each town and honors their contributions toward the growth and support of business in their towns. The Chamber of Commerce and several invited guest and dignitaries will pay homage to Mr. Luksch and the other honorees at the Eighth Annual Business Leader of the Year Awards banquet to be held at the Grand Marquis on October 25th.

``Blonder Tongue has been in business for 50 years and we have been one of the largest employers in Old Bridge for 30 years. I am honored to be acknowledged by the Chamber of Commerce as Business Leader of the Year,'' said James A. Luksch, CEO.

Mr. Luksch has been President, Chief Executive Officer, and a director of the Company, since 1989. In the eleven years under his leadership, the number of Company employees has quadrupled and revenues have increased 7 fold. Mr. Luksch's history in cable television began in 1965 by founding Texscan Corporation. His multiple patents, ranging from low noise amplifiers to CATV system analyzers, led to an invitation to serve on the NCTA Engineering Advisory Committee for a number of years. After completing his army service in the Korean War, Mr. Luksch received his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Buffalo, Magna cum Laude, followed by an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
