A re-vote of only certain Florida counties would be totally unacceptable to the rest of the country. We had the National election on Nov. 7th. Now that everyone knows how close the race really was (particularly in Florida), a re-vote would re-energize all the lazy and apathetic people in Florida who didn't bother to vote the first time. Now that everyone knows how close the whole race is, if you give Floridians a chance to go the polls again, then to be fair to the rest of the country, every other lazy apathetic registered voters in all the other states need to be given a second chance to go to the polls, too.

Not only that, but I wouldn't trust a re-vote in Florida, now that we know how close it is. There would be more incentive for the people who have no respect for the law to engage in voter fraud, i.e. voting dead people's ballots, etc. And the counting of ballots -- I wouldn't trust that process in a re-vote either.

As for "the ballot issue", that butterfly ballot is easy to follow if you know what a pointing, bold black arrow means when it's pointing to a hole and you're holding a little wire punch in your hand. It means "punch the wire thingy into the hole that the black arrow is pointing to, if you want the candidate whose name is behind the arrow to win".

And if a voter can't figure that out, and are too dumb to ask a poll volunteer for help, then they probably aren't capable of knowing which candidate they prefer anyway.

The ballot was approved by the applicable governing authority, and rightly so.
