This many ballots were not rejected, I saw that on koppel's Town Hall Last night. Correct figures in 1996 were 7,000; I don' tknow about this year yet, but in many cases ballots were thrown out because new ones were requested and recieved.

It's a bunch of media spin.

OTOH if 7,000 were thrown out last time, they probably should have reconsidered the ballot. But apparently there are antiquated procedures all over at election polls. Since it's so important who we pick as President and all the local elections, I think we should pour some funds into updating the system. Perhaps the best would be some kind of laser thing like they scan price with when you're shopping. Feed it into a computer base there. Intranet would be too dangerous because of hackers.
