Mike,

>>Wayne, Florida law also calls for the hand count, so it isn't the end of the story. <<

Are you sure about that? Clearly you can request it, but I haven't heard that you are guaranteed it by law. The selective hand count is a definitely a bad idea because different districts have different party representation.

To be honest, there's no way a hand count can be more accurate than a machine count when you are talking about millions of votes. We are talking about people that belong to parties and have a vested interest. This is a step backwards in my view - if we are trying to get at a fair count.

Latest news. 22,000 votes were tossed in a primarily Republican county.

Gore lost me the day he lied about being at his sister's death bed and used it for political gain. I think he's scum. Maybe I'm being biased???

I also have a huge problem with several reports that Democrats were handing out cigarettes to the homeless, going to jails, nursing homes etc... and coaching. I think people like that deserve a voice too, but coaching and inducing them to vote for a specific candidate is over the line - especially in some cases. Apparently they have some of this on film in Wisconsin. There are no reports of Republcicans handing out fertilizer to skinheads. (bg)
