Jim, another country heard from here: Gore's camp is asking for a hand recount in 3 or is it 4 counties, which happen to be strongly democrat. On one of the cable news channels this a.m., they described some reasons why machine count may be inaccurate, like the piece of paper from the punched hole doesn't fall out, and ends up either dangling or even being "smoothed back by the machine" so that it looks like it wasn't punched at all. So, it is obvious that statistically, the democrats will pick up more votes from "hand inspected" screwed up ballots in heavy democratic counties. It would be ridiculous to allow recount only in heavy democratic counties. That could only add votes to Gore and probably swing the election WRONGLY. Can't believe Bush's camp isn't bringing this out. Maybe they are, well, you know...
