There were deficits long before Reagan got in office; or are you trying to tell me you favored the way Carter dealt with the depression over Reagans. Secondly Clinton increased the deficits far more than Reagan did in his first 4 yrs

Nonsense. Carter's proposed budget for 1981 would have dropped the deficit from $60 billion to about $30 billion, the lowest in many years. Reagan quickly ran the deficit up to over $180 billion.

Clinton went from inheriting a $300 billion deficit, to a surplus in 7 years, well ahead of Ross Perot's best case scenario. Half of the deficit reduction came when the Democrats passed the 1993 Deficit Reduction Bill. The vote passed on Gore's tie breaking vote in the Senate, without a single Republican vote.
