Scumbria re..Nonsense. Carter's proposed budget for 1981 would have dropped the deficit from $60 billion to about $30 billion, the lowest in many years. Reagan quickly ran the deficit up to over $180 billion.

I take that back. I guess you do favor Carter's handling of the depression. The question is why? Maybe you do favor high unemployment rates and high interest rates. You really should be overjoyed when the recession the stock market is predicting gets here.

Clinton went from inheriting a $300 billion deficit, to a surplus in 7 years

Nice try but sleezy. Either Al or GW were elected to 4 yrs. not 8 and most certainly not 7 yrs. In Ronald's first 4 yrs of office, he had smaller deficiets than Bill; and Reagan had to deal with a depression. The congress had to defeat Hillery's massive health plan, pass a tax hike and shut down the gov. in 1995 in order to get deficit reductions. Now you are trying to give Bill all of the credit for getting the deficit under control. You think Bill was soley responsible. It figures. You probably still think Al invented the internet. Why not give credit to all of the people who deserve it; not just your pets.
