The problem is that Bush won the election...there was no need for the Reps to request a recount. Unfortunately, Gore, unable to accept defeat that would keep him from the only job he has ever wanted (since conception I believe) sent 50 people to Florida the day after the election...most of whom were attorneys. They immediately started setting into motion any option that could possibly capture back what they had clearly lost.

Bush camp seems to be in a position now of too little too late...and yet they are being cast as the instigators because they have taken their only recourse of seeking an injunction.

Just saw Daley in press conference...seems to have toned down his aggressive attitude...came across more like Howdy Doody than Darth Vador. Noticed he and Warren made an abrupt departure as soon as a question was asked about the subjective nature of manual recount. Neither would answer questions about next legal step...although Dems have just hired Harvard attorney. Got to give them credit...they're not leaving a stone unturned.
