Susan,

I've been at this site off and on for days and as with most things that people care about, often posters get emotional. However, after days of being irritated with Michael and his attitude, I put him on ignore and this board immediately became a better place. While I don't know Michael personally, he verbally attacks people, is overly-critical, and acts as though he knows all about everything. I, for one, am no longer reading his posts. He can sound off to others, criticize the NEA(as if there was NOTHING good about it), and attack public education. I'm a public school teacher who has devoted a large part of my life to teaching and children. I take pride in what I do and feel I make a difference with kids. I don't like to hear someone, who has never been in my class, act like such an expert on the quality of education taking place there. Anyone who makes general statements about a whole sector of a population(teachers, democrats, republicans, etc.) puts me in mind of Hitler and his hatred of a whole race. We're all individuals. We should be looked upon as such. These foolish generalities should be stopped.

Best Wishes,
Doribee
